You don't know why it's called the mess hall, it resembles a restaurant more than a military mess hall. Of course, it functions more as a restaurant than a mess hall, since you can order your own food in whatever rations you choose and sit at private tables with your friends. And it's all free. However, it's the only place to eat and that means it's noisy 24/7. Better get in while it's still relatively empty...

((Picked up from the Demigod cabin))
Hazel gravitated to the familiar lights of the mess hall like a moth. As she opened the doors, she was shocked to find only a handful of campers were sitting at the tables.
She went up to the counter and ordered her usual midnight nightmare-be-gone, hot chocolate and a snickerdoodle cookie. The chefs here made those to taste like a little piece of heaven sprinkled with rainbows.
"Nightmares again?" The friendly woman at the counter asked while handing Hazel her order. She had an inkling that the waitress was a shapeshifter, though no evidence ever confirmed her theory.
Hazel nodded, and the woman gave her a pitying look. Ladened with her drink and cookie, Hazel made her way to an empty table and took a seat. She took out a notebook from her pocket, and started to write with a pencil that had been tucked behind her ear.

Sadie Edwards Sadie walked into the mess hall and spyed her friend, Hazel, sitting alone at a booth and writing. However, instead of immediately rushing to Hazel's side and sitting down, Sadie walked to the counter and leaned over. She beckoned the cashier, who really only worked with orders and not money, and whispered quietly to him. "What's the news?" She muttered quickly. The cashier looked dissapointed. "I'm sorry dear, there's nothing else discovered about her case." "Oh." Sadie replied, looking around as if to check if anyone was staring at her yet. Then, the teen volunteer for cashier tonight (she always volunteered, and would've taken up the job if she'd been allowed.), who was almost definitely a psychic, pressed a sticky note into Sadie's hand and winked. As Sadie read the crumpled note, her eyes widened and she hurriedly stuffed it in her pocket. "Now would you like anything tonight?" The waitress/cashier replied at normal volume. "Hmmm, how about..." Sadie paused. "No, I'm not hungry. Thanks, though." Then, Sadie padded up behind Hazel. She plopped down in the seat across from the writing girl. "Hi, Hazel."

Hazel heard someone sit down in the seat in front of her. "Hi, Hazel." She heard a familiar voice exclaim. Hazel looked up to find her friend Sadie sitting across from her. "What are you doing up this late?" She asked, closing her notebook and nibbling on her cookie.

Sadie Edwards"I'm a cat. Durh. I do sleep a lot, true, but I still prefer the darkness to the light. Better for hunting prey..." She smirked, showing off her cat-like teeth as she flicked one of her cat ears. Despite her cheery tone, Sadie was panicking inwardly. The note, the note... It wasn't good. She stuck her hands in her pockets to hide the fact that she now had claws, and to squeeze that terrible note again. She was afraid she'd start crying in front of Hazel so even before she got a response, she jumped up, her blue eyes widening as she looked around and started backing up. "I-I'm sorry. I have to-o go.." She stammered, running into a chair before turning and breaking into an all-out run into Spiritwood, where she stopped, dazed. She cupped her face in her palms and attempted to resist tears a little bit longer.

Shiro Yonaka
He quietly walked into the Mess Hall with nothing on his hands to do. Today he has decided to take a break from researching on where his sister could be and decided to roam around the camp. His feet took him here, where he sat down in a dark corner where he asked for some time alone and some privacy from his fangirl stalkers. 'I wonder where she could be...' he thought with his gaze on the table he sat at.

Sadie Edwards ((<<Werecat Cabin)) The black cat padded into the mess hall, ignoring Shiro (unlike many other girls at camp) and not delighting in the fact he was sitting alone (unlike many other girls at the camp). She instead padded back to her seat across from Hazel and, ignoring the demigod's gaze, groomed herself.

Shiro Yonaka He mentally groaned in annoyance at the fact that most girls were swooning over him, and just wished to be left alone. Sadly that wasn't possible for he had 'The Looks' (according to what he heard on day) and won't stop pestering him, even if it cost them their lives.

Sadie Edwards Sadie glanced at Hazel, who was currently being unresponsive to the grooming black cat. She had little else to do, so she transformed back into her human form (although she still had her classic cat ears and tail) ((yes she's still clothed)) and paced around, looking at the other customers. She passed Shiro again and waved in acknowledgement without really paying much more attention to him. She thought it was pretty obvious she was almost the only girl in camp who wasn't crushing on him. After finishing her round, she scanned the room with her ocean blue eyes for someone aside from Hazel to talk to. If only Amber were here... She subconsciously crunched the note in her pocked again.

Shiro YonakaShiro nodded in acknowledgement at the cat girl, for a wave from him could cause utter chaos in the Mess Hall with the rampaging fangirls that he thinks that are mindless, and ignored them.

Sadie Edwards Sadie smirked; finally she had an idea. She was going to be a bit more adventurous than usual, maybe stir up a scandal... She confidently walked up to Shiro, who had nodded acknowledgement back at her a few moments before (enough to send most girls skittering away in a blush to share their luck) and stared at him, her blue eyes hostile. "I don't see why all the girls talk about you all the time." She said loudly enough for everyone in the mess hall to hear. The restaurant went silent.

Shiro YonakaShiro hummed out of boredom, "I personally don't know myself," he monotonously said, not caring if there would be a food fight. But a gun and bomb fight is a different story.

Sadie Edwards "Oh well then. Maybe for the next newspaper interview, I should talk to your most rabid fangirl to get in on this juicy gossip?" Sadie said sarcastically, twisting her mouth into a grin and winking. She leaned in and added in a whisper, "Don't worry, I don't see what's so great about you. I won't ask for your autograph to put on the front page."

Shiro Yonaka"Okay, good. As long as I can go study in peace," Shiro growled, getting flustered up again at the thought of his lost sister and swiftly made his way out of the Mess Hall. The Campfire>>))

Hazel looked up to notice that Shiro had entered. She had never found him particularly attractive, unlike most of the girls at camp. He was handsome though, Hazel just didn't really like people. Suddenly, Sadie spoke up. "I don't see why all the girls talk about you all the time." She exclaimed. "This should get interesting." Hazel muttered. "I personally don't know myself," Shiro answered. Hazel was surprised that no Fangirls had murdered Sadie yet. "Oh well then. Maybe for the next newspaper interview, I should talk to your most rabid fangirl to get in on this juicy gossip?" Yep, Sadie was definitely messing with him. Sadie leaned in and whispered something that Hazel couldn't hear. Hazel slowly stood up and attempted to sneak out of the Mess Hall to get away from anyone, but a growing number of people were blocking the door.
